Meet the PTO Board and Committee Chairs

  • Lashana Fulton, President (2024-2026 term) & Co-Chair of Events

    Lashana (prefers to be called Shana) is the mom of 2 children in the Dual Language program. Her daughter is in the 3rd grade; her son is in the 4th grade. Shana went to Worcester State College where she earned her bachelor's degree in nursing science. She has been a night nurse for almost 20 years. She loves helping others and often serves as a strong advocate for those within the communities she is involved with. You may see her on Ice Cream Fridays, selling ice cream to the students at school. In her free time, Shana devotes her time to having fun with her children, family, and friends. She enjoys finding new experiences that create lasting memories. 😊

  • Dawn Peterson, Treasurer (2024-2025 term)

    Dawn is a parent of two kids in the La Familia on Chandler Dual Language program - in 3rd and 1st grade. She is a former middle school math teacher who currently works in the edtech field at WPI. When not working or "PTO-ing", you can find her getting crafty, maintaining her veggie garden, or trying to fulfil her lifetime goal of reading through all of Stephen King's works.

  • Aislinn Doyle, Secretary (2024-2026 term) & Co-Chair of Fundraising Committee

    Aislinn (pronounced Ashlyn) is the mom of a second grader and pre-Ker and lives in the Newton Square neighborhood. Having graduated from a dual language program in Framingham, the Worcester Escuela Bilingüe community feels like home. In her spare time she writes a Substack about the governance of Worcester Public Schools called WPS in Brief.

  • Leanza Roux, At-Large & Co-Chair of Events Committee

    Leanza has three daughters, so her world is a whirlwind of unicorns, rainbows, and glitter (lots of glitter!). When she’s not teaching math, she’s whipping up tasty treats in the kitchen, exploring scenic hikes, and discovering new flavors at local restaurants. Travel is her passion, and she can't wait to bring fresh ideas and experiences to our wonderful community.

    Fun Fact: Despite her love for adventure, butterflies give her the jitters. Have you ever seen those faces up close? Trust me, it's an experience!

  • Gilmarie Vongphakdy, At-Large

    A proud Worcester public school alumni and a Main South kid, Gilmare Vongphakdy, was born in the Caribbean and migrated to Worcester with her family at a young age. She attended college in Boston, majoring in Communication with a minor in Hispanic Studies. After graduating, she returned home to Worcester and began her career in the marketing industry. After a couple of years of working, she applied to graduate school, completed her MBA, and is currently working in higher education. She is passionate about teaching and working with underserved populations, particularly access to education. She is the proud mother of a 4th grader and enjoys spending time with her. For fun, she paddleboards, runs, hikes, and knits.

  • Sandra Lozko, Chair of Library Committee

    Sandra is an outgoing mom who loves children and all things bilingual! She was a previous elementary school teacher of bilingual programs and has been part of the school community for over a decade. All three of her children attend or have graduated from the Chandler Magnet School. She's Peruvian-born, married to a Ukrainian-born. She's a lover of good food, libraries, languages, God, honesty and children who love to learn and have fun!

  • Grace Sliwoski, Co-Chair of Fundraising Committee

    Grace is the mom of a first and second grader in the SEI program and a proud graduate of a WPS magnet school (Jacob Hiatt.) She spends her days working at the REC, a food justice organization whose programs include the Worcester School Gardens network.

  • Sochi Paredes, Chair of Hospitality Committee

    Sochi is from the Indian Lake area of Worcester and her daughter is in her fourth year of dual language, and she started the program in kindergarten. Sochi likes to read in her free time and she enjoys talking and helping others. Every day she loves learning with her daughter and the children at school-their world is wonderful!
