PTO Monthly Newsletter
October 2024
We’re only two months into school but the PTO has been hard at work fundraising, planning community events, organizing the school library, creating a new school website, and opening a school store. We are thrilled to finally have a new school name and to become the Worcester Dual Language (WorDL) PTO! Find ways you can join us and get involved here. We also have a new facebook page and instagram account.

We are incredibly grateful to all the local businesses that donated prizes. Please patronize them! And a special thank you to the WorDL staff and families’ businesses that donated prizes: Castle Cantina, Party Pals, artist Germán Chiriboga, Song’s Keys, Tumblebus, Tiana Delia Photography, and the Moxy Boston. ¡Gracias!
THANK YOU LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS!
A huge thank you to all the parents, students, and community that came to volunteer on a Saturday! In 6 hours we put about 3,000 barcodes on our library books. Just 2,000 more to go to get the library open, which leads to….
🚨URGENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!🚨
The library committee is in need of volunteers so the library can open ASAP! They are looking for people to help put barcode labels and spine labels on all of the books (about 5,000!) Can you take a morning or afternoon off of work to help? Or come on your lunch break? The sooner we get it done the sooner the kids can start checking out the books! SIGN UP HERE. Elementary libraries receive no funding from the district, so our library is completely volunteer-led and relies on PTO fundraising. Thank you for considering it!
Committee Updates
The PTO has reorganized into a committee model, and committees work in different areas such as events, fundraising, hospitality and the library. The commitment is about an hour or two a month. If you’d like to sign up for a committee you can do that here. Click the link for more detailed descriptions of the committees.
