Spring is here! The Worcester Dual Language School PTO has been hard at work fundraising, hosting community events, running the school library, and planning for next year! Find ways you can join us and get involved here. We also have a facebook page and instagram account.

School Spirit Wear
The school store is open and the PTO gets 20% of the purchase. We’ve raised over $800 so far! Be sure to get your swag for spring!

Committee Updates
The PTO has reorganized into a committee model, and committees work in different areas such as events, fundraising, hospitality and the library. The commitment is about an hour a month and we need you to get involved! If you’d like to sign up for a committee for next year you can do that here. Events Committee
Bingo for books was a fun event, thanks to everyone that came and congrats again to the winners! Events committee is working hard on organizing Spree Day and Family Prom in June. We are in need of volunteers. If you ware willing to help please sign up here.

Fundraising Committee
The paint your pottery event raised about $500. So far this year PTO has raised $15,249 and our goal is $17,500 by June. Click here to learn what our fundraising goal is and what we put the money towards.

Hospitality Committee
The hospitality committee is working on helping with many year ends events like staff appreciation and graduations. Staff appreciation will be held during the school day on May 12. We are in need of volunteers. If you ware willing to help please sign up here.
Library Committee
Library is currently paused until May 19, as the school needed the space for MCAS testing, but we had ten amazing weeks of the school library being open. So far students have checked out 3,568 books, classes have visited 256 times total, and volunteers have donated 601 hours of their time! The most checked out books are Piggy and Gerald Books, Dogman, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. If you’d like to volunteer in the library you can fill out this form. We hope you heard from your children how much they love having library!

The library is open!
We have had five amazing weeks of the school library being open, and we hope your children have been able to bring home some great books to read with you. So far students have checked out 1607 books, classes have visited 91 times total, and volunteers have donated 228 hours of their time! If you’d like to volunteer in the library you can fill out this form.

Fundraising Updates
The winter concert raffle raised $1056 ($500 more than last year) and Penny Wars raised $1900 ($700 less than last year). So far this year PTO has raised $14,606 and our goal is $17,500.

Hospitality Updates
In December, the hospitality committee put together an amazing teacher appreciation brunch for all the educators and staff at WorDL. There was over $2300 worth of donations from families. Thank you to everyone who donated food items, raffle items, and volunteered their time!

In the first 1/3 of the school year the PTO has been hard at work fundraising, planning community events, organizing the school library, creating a new school website, and opening a school store. We are thrilled to finally have a new school name and to become the Worcester Dual Language (WorDL) PTO! Find ways you can join us and get involved here. We also have a new facebook page and instagram account.
Help with Winter Teacher Appreciation
Right before winter break the PTO gives the educators, staff and bus drivers a little show of appreciation with some food and raffling off some prizes. If you’d like to contribute you can sign up for food or raffle items, or give a donation to the teacher appreciation fund.

The library will open in January!
We are excited to share that the school library will open to students the week of January 13. When classes visit the library students will have the opportunity to check out a book
🚨URGENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!🚨
The library committee is in need of volunteers to help run our library. If you can commit to at least an hour the same time every week, please consider signing up! Elementary libraries receive no funding from the district, so our library is completely volunteer-led and relies on parents to make it run. Here’s the volunteer sign up form.
Holiday Concert Basket Raffle
We will have baskets to raffle off during the holiday concert on December 20. We’ll have hand made quilts, WooSox tickets, restaurant gift cards, and scratch tickets just to name a few! Tickets are $1 each or 12 for $10, so be sure to bring your cash!

We’re only two months into school but the PTO has been hard at work fundraising, planning community events, organizing the school library, creating a new school website, and opening a school store. ¡¡FINAL WEEK TO PURCHASE CALENDAR RAFFLE TICKETS!!
The last day to buy calendar raffle tickets October 31! The cost is $10 for an entry. Each day in November a raffle entry will be picked for the prize of the day with over $3,000 in prizes. Grab your tickets now and please share with your family and friends.

THANK YOU LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS!
A huge thank you to all the parents, students, and community that came to volunteer on a Saturday! In 6 hours we put about 3,000 barcodes on our library books. Just 2,000 more to go to get the library open, which leads to….
🚨URGENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!🚨
The library committee is in need of volunteers so the library can open ASAP! They are looking for people to help put barcode labels and spine labels on all of the books (about 5,000!) Can you take a morning or afternoon off of work to help? Or come on your lunch break? The sooner we get it done the sooner the kids can start checking out the books! SIGN UP HERE. The fall book fair fundraiser raised $2,525.48.
